Yes. Our “Tree Expert” license issued by the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources authorizes us to carry out all treatment, care, and removal of trees in the state.
We hold substantial general liability and worker's compensation insurance coverage. Our workers are protected in case of injury and you are also protected as are your family, visiting friends and delivery people, your home, car, yard, and any other persons or property that might be affected by our work. We provide certificates of insurance on request showing details and verifying that coverage is current (ask for certificates).
Always check the license and insurance of any arborist you are considering. A surprisingly low price may indicate lack of insurance. Insurance is expensive and therefore a common place to "cut corners" but you are likely to be held responsible if the company you hire does not have adequate insurance and any accident occurs. Homeowner's insurance typically requires that your hires hold appropriate licenses and insurance before even considering claims.
Tree Pros experience, training, and skills have provided us with an excellent record of safe operation.
There are a wide range of tree service enterprises out there and unfortunately simply being Tree Expert licensed and well-insured sets us apart from some. Being well-equipped takes us up another notch; we think about what may bring our clients particular benefits, from special mats to protect lawns to an aerial lift that squeezes into narrow spaces (learn more about our equipment).
We also have somewhat of an interest and specialty in working with Home Owners' Associations. We build long-term relationships and help residents hold to local HOA and other standards while beautifying properties and improving tree health.
HOA support, however, is pretty much an extension of what may be our main strength, which is our drive for individual client satisfaction. Our owner has a strong management background and we are small enough that she can successfully take responsibility at a deep, daily level, from hiring staff who reflect her customer service values to organizing logistics that get us to the jobs on time to individually tailoring work to meet special client concerns. Our client satisfaction focus is detailed in "The Tree Pro Advantage" elsewhere on this site. It's an advantage and also our promise to you.
Yes, both initial consultations and later work can be provided no contact on request. You can go through the whole process from first request to final payment without any in-person contact if you choose.
Or, you are also welcome to meet with us in person and observe our work. We maintain social distancing and follow your preferences regarding outdoor masking near you (indoors we will always wear a mask). We regularly sanitize equipment, contact surfaces, hands.... Please just let us know if you have other questions or requests.
No, our provision of an estimate is always free, with no obligation to contract for services. We will schedule an estimate when you first contact us and it will involve a job site visit if at all possible (otherwise we can sometimes work from photos).
During an in-person meeting, videoconference, telephone call, or message exchange with you (your choice), we will assess the planned work in detail; describe recommended pruning and/or removals; alert you to any hazards or complicating environmental conditions; and give you options on how to proceed with anticipated costs, timeline and results for each option.
After this consultation, you will be provided with a detailed written estimate. You can request modifications according to your needs/preferences and then receive a new version in writing.
We often provide "well tree visits," also known as "site safety visits." Having us drop by is an easy, no- or low-cost way to confirm the health of your trees and ensure that they can be expected to stand up to wind, storms, and other stressors.
We pride ourselves on quick service. Situations where there is threat of injury or potential for property damage with delay are given priority, immediate response. Other timelines can vary depending on your needs, requirements in terms of number of workers and types of equipment, and so forth. We should be able to give you a preliminary schedule with your first call to be confirmed as part of your written estimate.
We also complete jobs promptly. We should remain open and operating under current Maryland law even in case of another pandemic-related shutdown as arborists are considered to be an essential service.
When we invoice clients we provide a link for quick direct payment online, or you can pay by mail or over the phone. We accept most credit cards as well as checks and cash.
Payment is due upon completion of all work detailed in the written estimate. Unlike some other contractors who demand payment in advance, we want you to have the chance to review the full scope and quality of our work. We require an advance deposit only for crane work and unusually large jobs.
